Christmas is one of my favorite holidays to decorate my home for. My kids have so much fun as they unwrap decorations that they remember from the year before. Our tree is filled with ornaments from years past that bring back many memories. I love putting up lights that add a relaxing, holiday glow. Such a heart warming time of year.
I can never have enough holiday decorations. Seems like every other year I am adding a new bin to my inventory 😉 Since I also like doing crafts, here are some great (EASY) DIY Christmas decorations that I wanted to share.
Pillow Bows
Decorative Pillows (neutral colors look the best)
If you have pillows that are already neutral in color, you don’t even need to buy anything besides the ribbon! Otherwise, Amazon has some really cute decorative pillows that would look great dressed up.
It’s best to buy ribbon with thin wire so the bows can be tied just right (and stay in place). Below are a few pictures of how to tie the bow:
Window Wreaths
Small wreaths (these were found at Dollar Tree!!)
Cut the ribbon to the length you would like the wreaths to hang.
Attach stick on velcro to the end and hang from any drapery rod.
These wreaths add a nice touch and look great from indoor and outdoor views!
Christmas Tree Centerpiece
Any type of Christmas Tree decor piece (can be found at Michael’s, Hobby Lobby or any craft store)
Battery Powered Christmas Lights
Festive napkin rings (that can be opened to wrap around the base of the tree)
Self made, mini presents (optional)
Place the Christmas tree on the decorative plate.
Wrap the lights around the base of the tree.
Add the festive napkin ring decor so that the lights can be seen through them. Mini presents can be added as well. These were hand made, but they can also be found at most craft stores.
Here is another quick, cute idea. If you have a chandelier piece like this (or this type of lighting) in your home, you can dress it up with greenery and berries. Again, this type of decor can usually be found at any craft store.
Adding both the Christmas tree centerpiece and the greenery on the light fixture really helps bring everything together!
