These homemade mini burgers are great to make if you are cooking for a crowd. The recipe is a take off of the famous White Castle hamburgers and they definitely taste like them. They are perfect to serve as finger food at a party and a great size for kids as well 🙂
A few ingredients and a little bit of time is all it takes to make these tasty mini burgers!
Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef (I use at least 85-90% lean so that it cuts down on the grease when they bake)
- 1 envelope of dry onion soup mix
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 medium onions, sauteed (use some to put into the mix before they bake and use the rest on top of the burgers after they bake)
- 2 packages of small dinner rolls
Instructions
- Mix together ground beef, onion soup mix, water and some of the sauteed onions until thoroughly combined.
- Line a cookie sheet (with sides) with aluminum foil and spray with a little non-stick cooking spray.
- Press the mixture into the pan (it should cover most of the cookie sheet).
- Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 10 minutes. Check after 10 minutes and if the meat still looks slightly pink, it's okay to put it back in for a few minutes more.
- Take 2 packages of small dinner rolls and slice the rolls in half lengthwise. (Note - it is easier to do this only 6 rolls at a time versus the whole package)
- Drain some of the grease off the top of the burgers once they are baked. The ground beef shrinks down quite a bit after it is baked.
- Put baked hamburger mixture on the bottom half of the rolls. Put on the tops of the rolls and add cheese if you would like. You can put them back in the oven for just a minute or two to heat the buns.
- Slice and Enjoy!!
