Just like any other baked vegetables, there are SO many different ways you can make these. So many different spices and flavors you can add. It isn’t always easy to get these fries crispy, but if you aren’t picky about that, they are very easy to make and taste amazing.
Keep in mind that you can change the baked sweet potato fries recipe depending on whatever you are eating these with or what your family prefers. That’s the beauty of cooking……making it your own!!
Ingredients
- 3-4 medium sweet potatoes
- 6 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 4 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon sage
- 1/2 teaspoon basil
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- Salt & Pepper (to taste)
- Honey (to drizzle on top)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly coat with cooking spray.
- Cut the potatoes in half and then into wedges. I leave the skin on the potatoes and they bake just fine. If you prefer, you can peel the potatoes. *If you want to try for crispier fries, cut the potatoes to about 1/4" thick.
- Mix the olive oil, brown sugar, cinnamon, sage, basil, oregano, salt and pepper in a large bowl.
- Toss the potato wedges until they are fully coated.
- Place a single layer of potatoes on the baking sheet. Be sure they have enough room in between to bake evenly.
- Drizzle a small amount of honey over the potatoes.
- Bake for 40 minutes, or until tender. Ovens can vary with temperature, so start to check the potatoes for tenderness after about 25-30 minutes.
- If you would like the potato fries crispy, place them under the broiler for a few minutes (just watch them carefully so they don't burn).
